has anyone looked at precision metal fabrication? they sell atraction bar setup with a built in lift block that looks like it would be comparable, but pricey. the thing that it impressive is that the way everything is connected to the axle provides leverage to keep it in place. |

| Quote: | | Due to the LandYot Radius Rods currently being unavailable, I went ahead and installed a Hellwig anti-sway bar, Rancho RSX-9000 adjustable shocks and a Roadmaster Active Suspension. Those components made for an improved ride when not towing, and when towing a dump trailer with 2.5 tons of topsoil, I forgot it was back there. Prior to these suspension improvements, I felt like I was constantly fighting with the trailer to keep the truck and trailer driving straight. I know a lot of people on this and other forums highly recommend the LandYot Radius Rods and I'm not knocking them, but if you can't get your hands on a set, I can attest that the above combination of suspension components significantly improved my ride, both loaded and unloaded, YMMV. |
napolija, may I ask which setting you prefer with the RAS? I'm still fighting the wander, especially when towing. My RAS was adjusted to the small gap, should I go with the larger spacer gap? I'm unable to install the Hellwig because I have an auxiliary fuel tank in the way. Do you think the Rancho shocks contributed significantly to your improved handling?
So far, I have installed RAS, new front sway bar end links and bushings, a Red Head steering gearbox, etc. Still feels loosey goosey in the front end. Not as much as it used to, but still. |

I went with the settings the RAS directions recommended and it worked fine for me. Unfortunately, I did all the upgrades with a months time and didn't end up making a long run with the trailer until they were all done, so I can't say for sure which single item made the most improvement in my ride. I also discovered when I was installing the RAS that one of the previous owners had installed add-a-leafs all the way around, so that also may have made my combination of improvements work better together. The biggest reason I picked the adjustable shock combination was to allow me to run a bit softer when I'm just towing the family making for a smoother ride, but stiffen it up when towing the trailer. Truthfully, just upgrading from the stock shocks to Rachno's or Bilstien's would have probably improved the ride, but I liked the idea of having flexibility, so I opted for the adjustable Racho's. I hope this helps and good luck taming your ride.

Hello,
Have you begun making your Landyot Radius Rods again? If not, have you partnered with a fabricator that I could purchase two sets from? I own a 2000 & 2002 Excursions, and really need to improve the handling. My research has found that your product does the best job. Thanks. |

I also put the RAS system on due to not being able to obtain the Landyot's. I had some scary experiences while towing a boat and again with a camper. I also had issues while not towing. I started with Tires and ball joints-not much improvment. I added Bilstein shocks and a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar-My 2000 didn't have a rear anti sway bar. That helped somewhat. The RAS made a HUGE difference. I can now tow anything and not have to white knuckle it down the road. It is truly a pleasure to drive. Good luck. |

I have a set of the latest Landyot Radius Rods that I purchased a few years ago and never installed. They are the weld-on type and are brand new. I have everything to install them including printed out instructions. If you are interested please email me. Thanks. dhoffer1 at gmail.com |

Hey landyot, I am in need of assistance. I have been hearing some rattling sounds, like a loose washer sound, so checked and found I have both u bolts sheared off on passsenger side on one of the radius rods. No idea how this happened, but now in need of trying to find some that fit. Any idea where to go and what size?
